Paint the Hilltops Purple
In November 2024, the Hilltops region was adorned with the colour purple, as a united front against family and domestic violence. Many shopfronts and local homes joined the awareness event with their creative decorations, as purple balloons filled the street and many locals dressed in purple clothing.
Conversations were had all over the town of Young, as the committee members of YCAC, MHR and our local member, Stephanie Cooke shared the challenges that face so many families and how everyone can get involved in supporting their essential work.
Ms Cooke said in the article called Paint the Hilltops Purple. ‘Tragically, the Hilltops region has one of the highest levels of domestic-violence related assaults across South-Eastern NSW. The work of YCAC and Margaret House Refuge and their team of volunteers is truly saving lives,”
